at this court it was shown by the homage that Edw Browne senior who held for himself and his heirs by copy of court roll bearing the date 6.1.1644# one messuage with yards gardens and buildings pertaining to the said messuage and two parcels of land and one little grove called Bettesland or other after the last court died seised thereof and that Edw Browne junior is his son and heir who present in court humbly sought admittance as tenant of the lord for the premises to whom the lord by the said steward granted and delivered seisin thereof by the rod to have and to hold the said messuage parcel of land and little grove with appurtenances to the said Edw Browne the son his heirs and assigns forever from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine and made fealty
