whereas at a court here held 17.1.1612 Edw Browne took for himself and his heirs by the surrender of Robt Parker and Eliz his wife one half of three crofts of land called Bowerfield also Bowerfield with a messuage built thereon except for 7a3r of land parcel of Bowerfield also Bowerfield (sic) already surrendered to the use of Hugh Johnson and whereas at a court here held 9.1.1636 the said Edw Browne took for himself and his heirs by the surrender of Edw Prentice and Alice his wife the other half of the said croft of land called Bowerfield also Bowerfield with appurtenances now at this court it was shown by the homage that the said Edw Browne after the last court died thus seised of the premises thereof except for the previous exception and the exception of about 3a of land previously surrendered by the said Edw to the use and behoof of Sam Game and Jane his wife and that Edw Browne junior is his son and heir who present in court humbly sought admittance as tenant of the lord for the premises to whom the lord by the said steward granted and delivered seisin thereof by the rod to have and to hold the said messuage and other premises called Bowerffield also Bowerfield with appurtenances except for the previous exception to the said Edw Browne the son his heirs and assigns forever from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine and made fealty
