whereas at a court here held 16.2.1649 Edw Browne surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of his steward about 3a of land with appurtenances called Sparepasture parcel of Boarefield also Bowerfield lying between a little grove called Bettesland on the part towards the south and abutting upon the glade belonging to a farm called Prucknetts on the western part and upon another parcel of the same farm towards the north and east to the use and behoof of Edw himself for his lifetime and after his decease to the use and behoof of Sam Game and Jane his wife and the heirs of their bodies legitimately procreated the remainder thereof to the rightful heirs of the said Edw now at this court it was presented by the homage that the said Sam afterwards died and the said Jane herself survived him and that afterwards the said Jane died and that Jane now wife of Edw Grant is only daughter and heir of the bodies of the said Sam and Jane his wife legitimately procreated and that the said Edw Browne after the last court died upon which came into court the said Jane through the said Edw Grant junior and in the part of her attorney and deputy and humbly sought admittance as tenant of the lord for the premises to whom the same Jane by the hands of her said deputy and attorney the lord by the said steward granted and delivered seisin thereof by the rod to have and to hold the said 3a of land with appurtenances to the said Jane Grant and the heirs of her body legitimately procreated from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and the said Edw Grant gave to the lord the fine of the said Jane and thus was admitted tenant of the lord thereof
