whereas at a court here held 20.4.1626 Agnes Spooner and Edw Spooner junior were admitted tenants of the lord viz the said Agnes for her lifetime the remainder thereof to the said Edw his heirs and assigns to 10a of land more or less parcel of Lowfield according as by hedges and ditches they are divided from about 6a of land parcel of the said Lowfield now at this court it was presented by the homage that the said Agnes before this court died and that afterwards and before the last court viz 20..5.1663 the said Edw Spooner surrendered i nto the hands of the lord by the hands of Jn Meriton gentleman instead of the bailiff and in the presence of Ralph Josselin and Wm Adams senior two customary tenants of the said manor the same testifying etc the said 10a of land more or less now divided into three closes with the messuage and garden thereon lately built with appurtenances to the use and behoof of Mary Brand widow her heirs and assigns forever according to the tenor of the last will and testament of the said Edw bearing the date 20.5.1663 as said above and that afterwards and before this court the said Edw died and upon this the said Mary present in court humbly sought admittance as tenant of the lord of the premises to whom the lord by the said steward granted and delivered seisin thereof by the rod to have and to hold the said messuage garden and about 10a of land with appurtenances to the said Mary Brand her heirs and assigns forever from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and she gave to the lord her fine etc
