at this court it was shown by the homage that Jn Stephens senior who held for himself and his heirs by copy of court roll bearing the date 14.8.1648 one cottage and parcel of land containing in length 28rod and in breadth to one head 10rod and to the other head 9rod and a half after the last court died thus seised thereof and that Jn Stephens is his grandson and heir viz son and heir of Jn Stephens junior deceased son of the said Jn Stephens senior upon which came here into court the said Jn Stephens the grandson and humbly sought admittance as tenant of the lord for the premises to whom the lord by the said steward granted and delivered seisin thereof by the rod to have and to hold the said cottage and parcel of land with appurtenances to the said Jn Stephens the grandson his heirs and assigns forever from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine etc
