at this court Robt Allen also Payne and Rose his wife who held for themselves and the heirs of the said Robt one customary tenements called Seabrights with appurtenances by copy of court roll bearing the date 2.4.1662 came and Rose herself solely and secretly examined by the said steward as if the custom and consenting the said Robt and Rose by the rod surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of his said steward the said tenement with appurtenances to the use and behoof of Jn Rushbrooke of Earls Colne fishmonger his heirs and assigns forever who present in court humbly sought admittance as tenant of the lord for the premises to whom the lord by the said steward granted and delivered seisin thereof by the rod to have and to hold the said tenement with appurtenances to the said Jn Rushbrooke his heirs and assigns forever from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine etc
