to this court came Jn Clarke who held for himself and his heirs by copy of court roll bearing date 16.1.1655 all that piece of a certain messuage or tenement with appurtenances called Mordens late Jn Dowe and late in the tenure of Bridget Ayseward and by the rod surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of his said steward all that part of the said messuage or tenement with appurtenances to the use and behoof of Rose wife of Robt Allen also Payne for the lifetime of the said Rose and after her decease to the use and behoof of Jn Allen also Payne son of the said Robt and Rose and the heirs of the body of the said Jn legitimately procreated and in default of such heirs to the use and behoof of the said Robt his heirs and assigns forever upon which came into court the said Rose and humbly sought admittance as tenant of the lord for the premises to whom the lord by the said steward granted and delivered seisin thereof by the rod to have and to hold the said whole part of the said messuage or tenement with appurtenances late of Jn Dowe to the said Rose for her lifetime the remainder thereof in the said form of the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and the said Robt gave to the lord for the fine of the said Rose and thus was admitted tenant thereof
