at this court it was shown by the homage that Robt Nicolls who by copy of court roll bearing the date 15.1.1650 held for himself and his heirs one tenement and garden with appurtenances called Clovers after the last court viz 15.2.1669 surrendered into the hands of the lord of the said manor by the hands of Albert Garratt instead of the bailiff in the presence of Wm Harlakenden esq and Jn Garrett two customary tenants of the said manor the same testifying etc the said tenement and garden with appurtenances to the use and behoof of Mary Nicoll daughter of the said Robt and the heirs and assigns of the said Mary forever to whom the same said Mary present in court and seeking this the lord by the said steward granted and delivered seisin thereof by the rod to have and to hold the said premises with appurtenances to the said Mary her heirs and assigns forever from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and she gave to the lord her fine etc and afterwards the said Mary in open court by the rod surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of the said steward the said tenement and garden with appurtenances to the wishes uses and intentions declared or to be declared in the testament and last will of Mary herself
