whereas at a court here held 20.4.1636 Barth Clarke was admitted to him and his heirs to one rentary or messuage called Joulins or by any other name once Wm Browne's and at a court here held 5.4.1671 it appeared to the homage that on 20.10.1669 the said Barth surrendered into the lord's hands by the hands of Jn Alston instead of the bailiff in the presence of Jn Clark and Rich Wilson two customary tenants etc to the use and intention of his last will and testament now at this court if appeared to the homage that the said Barth died before this court and upon this came into court Joan Alston and showed the last will of the said Barth in writing dated 11.10.1669 the tenor of which concerning the premises in these english words following item my will and mind is that Joan my daughter should have the part and parcel of it in which I now dwell so long as she live paying to Ann Clark my daughter the full and just sum of 20s a year or every year so long as she shall continue her natural life and after the decease of the said Joan my daughter my will and mind is and I do hereby give and bequeath unto Barth Alston her son to his heirs forever and the said Joan and Barth Alston present here in court humbly petitioned admittance to whom the steward delivered seisin etc to have and to hold the last mentioned premises to the said Joan for and during the term of her life and after her decease to the said Barth Alston and his heirs forever according to the form and effect of the will aforesaid of the lord etc and they gave for fine etc
