whereas at a court here held 11.10.1637 Robt Finch was admitted to him and his heirs to one cottage or tenement with a garden adjoining called Charles Payne lying next to the churchyard of Earls Colne aforesaid on the north and the way leading to Colne Park on the other part to the south one head thereof abuts on the Church Green against the east and the other head of the Hallyard against the west and to a shop called The Forge adjoining the said cottage as shown in the copy of court roll now at this court it appeared to the homage that the said Robt Finch died after the last court so seised and that Robt Finch is his son and heir who present in court humbly petitioned admittance etc to whom the steward delivered seisin by the rod to have and to hold to the said Robt Finch his heirs and assigns of the lord etc and he gave the lord for fine etc
