whereas at a court here held 22.4.1669 Wm Shillitoe was admitted to him and his heirs to part of a tenement called Cocks lying in Holt Street with a yard and garden to the said tenement pertaining now in the occupation of Robt Axall now at this court it is presented by the homage that 11.3.1672 the said Wm Shillitoe surrendered the premises into the hands of the lord by the hands of Jn Hall instead of the bailiff and in the presence of Geo Cressener gentleman and Jn Shillitoe two customary tenants etc to the use of Rich Shillitoe of Earls Colne aforesaid husbandman his heirs and assigns forever upon which came here into court the said Rich and humbly petitioned admittance to whom the steward delivered seisin to have and to hold the said tenement aforesaid to the said Rich Shillitoe his heirs and assigns of the lord etc and he gave the lord for fine etc
