now at this court it appeared to the homage that

esq steward of the manor aforesaid and the said

solely and secretly examined by the steward and consenting surrendered into the hands of the lord by the said steward all that cottage or tenement that was late a barn belonging to the tenements aforesaid called
Clovers
with appurtenances with a yard belonging late divided with a fence containing in length 45ft more or less and in breadth 28ft or thereabouts and the use of a well pertaining to the tenement called
Clovers
when necessary and a way from the yard of the tenement once a barn to the common street of Earls Colne aforesaid as it is now divided to the sole use of
Jn Garret
of Earls Colne aforesaid maltster his heirs and assigns forever who present here in court humbly petitioned admittance etc to whom the steward delivered seisin etc to have and to hold the said cottage late a barn and the yard and the surrendered premises to the said
Jn Garret
his heirs and assigns of the lord etc and he gave the lord for fine etc
