at a court held 14.4.1681 Sam Finch was admitted to one messuage or cottage with a yard and garden belonging called Francis now at this court it appeared that 7.5.1681 he surrendered by the hands of Sam Burton instead of the bailiff in the presence of Dan Nightingale and Rich Appleton two customary tenants etc the said cottage etc to the use of Thos Biggsby of Halstead yeoman who was admitted and gave the fine and made fealty and after the said Thos Biggsby surrendered all his customary lands etc to the use of his last will
