at a court held 23.9.1679 Mary Josselin was admitted to a messuage and certain lands and tenement customary called Stacyes Wastlyns with barns stables and buildings belonging to the said messuage now at this court it appeared that on 4.4.last she surrendered the premises by the hands of Wm Fisher instead of the bailiff in the presence of Robt Potter and Humph Ruggles etc to the use of certain writings of the said Mary and afterwards it appeared that the said Mary by a writing under her hand and seal declared that Ralph Josselin clerk and Jane his wife jointly and severally to have the rents and profits of the premises for their lives and after their deaths to the use of Eliz now wife of Gilb Smith and the heirs and assigns of the said Eliz forever as is shown by the writing and afterwards it appeared that the said Ralph died upon which Jane Josselin was admitted according to the form and effect of the surrender and gave fine etc
