at a court held 31.3.1691 Sarah Pryor now wife of Edw Payne was admitted to her and her heirs to one tenement with appurtenances late Jn Hay's and now in occupation of Edw Peartree held of annual rent 8d and services it appears at this court to homage that said Edw Payne and Sarah his wife said Sarah first by Jn Eldred steward of the manor solely and secretly examined according to custom on 22.3. out of court surrendered by rod into hand of lord by hand of steward the premises with appurtenances and all her just estate title interest and demand of and in the said premises and all customary lands and tenements held by Edw Payne and Sarah his wife of the said manor to sole use of Eliz Potter one of the daughters of Wm Potter of Colne Wake in county of Essex her heirs and assigns forever who present here in court etc admitted etc fine fealty respited
