at a court held 19.10.1680 Jn Crow was admitted to him and heirs to one croft land sometime called Bowerfeild and now called Holders Feild containing by estimation 6a more or less at a court held 21.3.1700 it appeared Jn Crow late died seised and that he himself surrendered all his customary lands tenements and hereditaments of the manor to use of his last will then proclamation was made now at this court comes Sam Crow and produces here in court last will of Jn dated 22.4.1699 in following english words item I give and bequeath unto Sam Crow one of my sons all that my copyhold field or parcel of land lying and being in Earls Colne holden of the said manor by copy of court roll to his heirs forever upon this condition that he the said Sam my son do after my decease give one general and lawful release or other discharge unto my executor hereafter named in full of a legacy given to him the said Sam by his grandmother Ann Day widow late of Earls Colne being the sum of some odd shillings who present here in court humbly petitions etc admitted the premises with appurtenances fealty respited
