at a court held 11.12.1677 Jn Cressener gentleman was admitted to him and heirs to 16a more or less lying in Lowfeild below the house sometime Jn Wroe's and late Geo Cressener gentleman deceased and from part of lord's land called Rivetsfeild and also to two crofts of land then late one croft containing 8a more or less with appurtenances lying in a field called Lowfeild below Chiffen next bardariam late leading thither and three crofts of land called Broomecrofts and also to four parcels and a croft of land and pasture late parcel of Lowfeild containing by estimation 20a more or less and at that court said Jn Cressener was admitted to him and heirs to one croft of land called Spoutfeild and also to one messuage or tenement with barn orchard and gardens with appurtenances called Daynes and also to one piece or parcel pasture called Rushfeild and to one parcel meadow called Rushmeadow containing 8a1r more or less and at the last court held for manor 30.4.last appeared to homage that Jn Cressener after the last court had died seised and that in his life viz 30.4.1715 said Jn Cressener surrendered by the rod into the hand of the lord by hand of Sam Burton in place of the bailiff in presence of Jn Hatch senior and Wm Boosby two customary tenants etc all his customary messuages lands and tenements held of the manor to uses of his last will after which first proclamation etc Eliz Cressener widow and relict of Jn Cressener by Edw Cressener gentleman in role of attorney or deputy and produces here in court last will of Jn Cressener dated 25.1.1709 in following english words viz item all my messuages lands tenements and woods freehold and copyhold with their and every of their appurtenances situate lying and being in parishes of Earls Colne Colne Engaine White Colne or in any of them and now or late in my own occupation or in the occupation of Robt Sandall Abrm Hay and Jn Hull or any of them or of any other person or persons whatsoever I give and bequeath unto Eliz Cressener my loving wife for and during the term of her natural life and after her decease unto my said brother Edw Cressener and his heirs forever as by last will plainly appears thereupon said Eliz Cressener humbly petitions etc admitted to said premises etc during her life giving fine for her admission but fealty respited
