at this court appears to homage that on 30.7.1726 Thos Jacob and Mary his wife late Mary Abbutt spinster customary tenants of this manor surrendered into hand of lord by rod by hand of Solomon Grimston gentleman deputy steward she Mary first solely and secretly examined by deputy steward and consenting according to custom of manor all that customary messuage or tenement with curtilage adjoining called Greens Tenement and also one garden parcel of a tenement called Jaakes and also one croft of land with a barn built on it called Jaakes also Mulberry Croft containing 1a2r more or less with all their rights and appurtenances of Earls Colne then in separate tenure of Dan Patten and     Sillito and Wm Bateman or their assigns to the use of Rich Argent of Colne Wake Essex yeoman his heirs and assigns forever which Rich present here in court lords by steward granted delivery of seisin by the rod of all and singular the said premises etc gives lord fealty
