at this court it is testified by deputy steward and found by homage that on 23.5.last Isaac Potter and Ann his wife customary tenants of manor did come before deputy steward said Ann first solely and secretly examined by deputy steward and consenting as manner is surrendered by rod into hands of lord and lady by hands of steward according to custom of manor all that their messuage or tenement sometime Wm Davison and afterwards of Wm Brown with yards gardens and appurtenances belonging and adjoining with a certain way to carry and recarry from the said garden to a lane called Bearcroft Lane and said premises then were in several occupations of Isaac Potter Wm Booseby and Eliz Catley or assigns held of manor by copy of court roll to use of Jn Carter of Stanway in said county singleman his heirs and assigns forever provided always and upon condition nevertheless that if Isaac Potter his heirs administrators or assigns should pay unto Jn Carter his executors administrators or assigns the full just sum of 10li5s of lawful money of Great Britain on the 24.11.next without any deduction whatsoever then the surrender to be void otherwise to be in force
