also at this court it is found by homage that Oliver Johnson and Abigail his wife two customary tenant of the manor on 10.1.last surrendered by rod into hands of lord by hands and acceptance of Rich Wale gentleman steward she Abigail being first privately examined by said steward and consenting according to custom of manor all that their messuage or tenement with buildings and appurtenances belonging called the Hayhouse with several pieces of land pasture and hopground containing 32a more or less and one piece of meadow containing 3a more or less and Sladesland containing 8a more or less and 1a more in Longland and also two tenements adjoining now called the Wick House and a toft of ground formerly three cottages and also all that their fourth fifth parts the whole into five equal parts to be divided 6a wood ground parcel of Cogges Grove lying next to land called Colne Park and also four fifth parts of a messuage or tenement with the barn stables orchard and gardens belonging and 26a land 3a1r meadow called Curds and three crofts land called Barmanfields Rounsells and Pellsland containing by estimation 15a and also four fifth parts of certain lands called Heathfield also Heath Croft Stonyland and Brookhouse Meadow lying in Earls Colne containing by estimation 20a and all their appurtenances and also all and singular other their customary lands messuages tenements and hereditaments whatever held of manor to use of Eliz Wale of Earls Colne spinster her heirs and assigns upon condition that if Oliver Johnson or Abigail his wife or either of them or their heirs executors administrators or assigns shall pay to Eliz Wale her executors administrators or assigns the sum of 720li with legal interest for the same 11.7.next ensuing the day of the date thereof without any abatement or deduction whatever the surrender to be void
