fine 3s8d | to this court came Alan Payn and surrendered into the hands of the lady one cottage with appurtenances and one garden lying between a tenement of Jn Segg on one part and a tenement of Hen Payn on the other part to the use of Wm Baker and Margt his wife and their heirs to whom the lady granted thereof seisin to hold to the same Wm and Margt his wife and their heirs at the will of the lady according to the custom of the manor saving rights etc upon the following condition viz that the aforesaid Wm should pay each year at the feast of michaelmas 2marks until the sum of 10li is thus fully paid otherwise this same said surrender should be void etc and he gave to the lady for a fine for entry to hold as is shown in the margin pledged for the fine Jn Segg and Thos Morden and he made fealty to the lady |
