fine 40d | to this court came Rich Polstede and surrendered into the hands of the lady one cottage with garden adjoining that was sometime Robt Croow to the use of Thos Denton and Wm Wyghthill to whom the lady thereof granted seisin to hold to the same said Thos and Wm their heirs and assigns from the lady at the will by ancient services and customs according to the customs of the manor and they gave to the lady for a fine for having such estate as shown in the margin and made fealty upon such conditions that the aforesaid Thos and Wm should pay or cause to be paid to the aforesaid Rich or his said attorney at the feast of st martin the bishop next following of 26s8d in the church of st Andrew of Colne and at the feast of easter then next following 26s8d in the aforesaid church and at the feast of st martin the bishop following 26s8d in the same said church and if it should happen that the aforesaid Thos and Wm should default in part or in whole in any payment or any one of them above named that then the aforesaid Rich or his assigns should be allowed to reenter into the aforesaid cottage with garden adjoining as in his previous estate this surrender notwithstanding |
