fine 12d | to this court came Ralph Preston and Jn Clerk baster and surrendered into the hands of the lord one cottage with garden adjoining with appurtenances sometime of Adam Smyth to the use of Wm Bocher (sic) upon this condition however that if the aforesaid Wm should pay or cause to be paid to the aforesaid Ralph and Jn or their attorneys 1mark sterling viz at feast of the nativity of stjn.next following after the date of this present court that then this surrender should stand in its full force and if it should happen that the aforesaid Wm or his attorney default in the said payment of the aforesaid 13s4d at the aforesaid term in part or in whole then the aforesaid Ralph and Jn or their attorneys should be allowed to reenter into the aforesaid cottage with appurtenances and keep it by licence from the lord notwithstanding this surrender to whom the lord granted thereof seisin to hold to him his heirs and assigns from the lord at the will of the lord by ancient service and custom according to the custom of the manor and upon the aforesaid condition saving the rights etc and he gave to the lord for a fine etc and made fealty |
