fine 10d | at this court Robt Trot out of court surrendered into the hands of Jn Turnor bailiff of this manor in the presence of Jn Prince and Robt Sebryt and other of the lord's tenants one messuage with curtilage adjoining with appurtenances lying between a messuage late of Robt Kyrton on one part one head abutting upon the king's highway leading from Colne towards Halsted and the other upon the Tollehowsgrene to the use of Jn Ascheford and Agnes his wife upon this condition however that the aforesaid Jn and Agnes his wife or their attorney should pay or cause to be paid to the aforesaid Robt or his attorney 4li sterling viz at the feast of easter next following after the date of this court 6s8d and at michaelmas then next following 6s8d and thus from year to year until the aforesaid sum of 4li sterling should be paid to whom the lord now at this court granted thereof seisin to hold to the same said Jn and Agnes his wife and their heirs and assigns from the lord at the will of the lord by ancient services and customs etc and upon the aforesaid condition etc and if it should happen that the aforesaid Jn and Agnes his wife or their attorney should default in the aforesaid payment at any time aforesaid in part or in whole that then truly the aforesaid Robt or his attorney should be allowed by licence of the lord to reenter into the aforesaid messuage with curtilage adjoining with appurtenances and to hold it in his former estate notwithstanding this surrender otherwise it should stand in full force and vigour etc and they gave to the lord for a fine etc and made fealty etc |
