fine 20d | to this court came Thos Whylton sadler of London and Margt his wife who was lately the daughter of Steph Meller of Earls Colne and she herself solely examined and confessed by the lord's steward and surrendered into the hands of the lord one messuage with garden adjoining with its appurtenances lying between a messuage at Colford Hell between a messuage of Jn Whrygth on one part and a messuage late of Rich Cope on the other part one head abutting upon a croft of the said Jn Whrygth and the other upon the king's highway leading from Earls Colne towards Colchester to the use of Wm Sorell and Jn Kebyl mason to whom the lord now in this court granted thereof seisin to hold to the same said Wm and Jn their heirs and assigns from the lord at the will of the lord by ancient services and customs and they gave to the lord for a fine and made fealty |
