fine 16d | to this court came Jn Mille and Jn Cook and surrendered into the hands of the lord one cottage with purpresture adjoining between a tenement of Steph Trot on the one part and the king's highway on the other part one head abutting upon the said king's highway and the other upon a garden pertaining to the said cottage to the use of Jn Tyllere and Margt his wife and Robt Arnold upon this following condition however that the aforesaid Jn and Margt his wife and Robt or their attorneys should pay or cause to be paid to the aforesaid Jn Mille and Jn Cooke or their attorneys 6marks sterling viz at the feast of michaelmas.next after the date of this court 20s and at the feast of easter then next following 3s4d and at the feast of michaelmas then next following 3s4d and at the feast of easter then next following 3s4d and thus from year to year until the said sum of 6marks sterling should be paid to whom the lord now at this court granted thereof seisin to hold to the same said Jn Tyler and Margt his wife and Robt their heirs and assigns from the lord at the will of the lord by ancient services and customs and upon the aforesaid condition and if it should happen that the aforesaid Jn and Margt his wife and Robt or their attorneys should default in the aforesaid payment of the aforesaid sum of 6marks or in any of the aforesaid terms in part or in whole that then truly the aforesaid Jn Mille and Jn or their attorneys should be allowed by licence of the lord to reenter into the same cottage with its appurtenances and retain it in their former estate notwithstanding this surrender otherwise it should stand in its force and right etc and they gave to the lord for a fine etc and made fealty etc |
