Earls Colne Simon Hamund Colne Engayne Thos Dyn and Jn Soneld Jn Stone Feryng inquisition Halstead by deed Thos Alot | whereas at a court here held on the monday 6.3.37Edw3 Rich Lamberd now Simon Hamund (inserted) came and surrendered into the hands of the lord two crofts of enclosed land called Mundeslond to the use of Rich son of Jn Turnor and his heirs by the services and customs etc item it was shown by an inquisition that Rich Stepvene bought by deed 10a of land from Robt Dyn clerk in Little Colne etc and 16a of free land to him by deed in the same said village from Simon Catteshale and 5a of free land now Robt Dyn and Jn Soneld (inserted) in the same said village of Lance Atte Noke and 5a of free land now Jn Stone (inserted) in the same said village from Rich Savage and further the said Rich took the said land from the lord by the rod therefore it was presented to seize etc and to return to the lord of the profits etc item inquisition(inserted) it was presented that the same said Rich married Robt his son to a certain free woman without licence etc which same said woman was seised of one messuage and 20a of free land in the village of Feryng therefore it was presented to seize etc item Jn Atte Noke gave to the lord for a fine so that he should be able to release his right to a certain Wm Gosse now Thos Alot (inserted) of one messuage and 1a2r of free land in the village of Halsted which ought to have descended to himself by the death of his mother etc therefore it was presented to seize all the aforesaid lands and tenements against the next etc and to return to the lord of the profits etc |
