fine 3s condition to this court came Robt Sebryt and Thos Kelet and surrendered into the hands of the lord one croft of land called Mandeslond containing 6a with appurtenances by estimation lying between lands called Melles and Buggs on one part one head abutting upon a croft of land of Jn Turnor called Pechard and the other head upon a croft of Breggemannes called The Lye and a croft of land called Gosseescroft containing by estimation 5r of land with appurtenances as it lies between a croft of Firmin Tyllere on one part and lands called Cherchelond on the other part one head abutt ing upon Prestlond Lane to the use of Steph Smyth and Jn Benyt upon this condition that the aforesaid Steph and Jn or their attorney should pay or cause to be paid to the aforesaid Robt or his attorney 8li sterling viz at the feast of easter next following after the date of this court 40s sterling and thus from year to year until the aforesaid sum of 8li sterling should be paid and thus that they themselves should be obliged in the same said form in the court of the prior of the Priory of Colne aforesaid concerning the aforesaid sum for other lands and tenements which are held of the aforesaid prior to whom the lord now at this court granted thereof seisin to hold to the same said Steph and Jn their heirs and assigns from the lord at the will of the lord by the ancient services and customs etc and upon the aforesaid condition etc saving the right etc and if it should happen that the aforesaid Steph and Jn or their attorneys should default in the aforesaid payment at any of the aforesaid terms in part or in whole then truly it should be allowed to the aforesaid Robt and Thos or their attorneys by the lord's licence to reenter the aforesaid crofts with appurtenances and to retain them notwithstanding this surrender otherwise it should stand in its force and vigour etc and they gave to the lord for a fine etc and made fealty
