fine 3s4d Jn Wode senior and Jn Wode junior butcher# and grocer of London and Xian Wode in her pure widowhood present in court surrendered into the hands of the lord two cottages within the fee of the same said lord lying together between a tenement of Ralph Noke on one part and a tenement of Jn Bray on the other part in Great Colne to the use of Jn Botillere and Xian his wife and the heirs of Jn himself saving and reserving for Xian mother of the same said Xian wife of the same said Jn one cottage with appurtenances of the aforesaid cottages called Skynneres on the eastern part to hold of the same said Jn Skinner for the whole of the lifetime of the same said Xian mother of the aforesaid Xian thus that after the death of the aforesaid Xian the mother etc the aforesaid cottage with appurtenances to remain to the aforesaid Jn Botillere and Xian his wife and the heirs of Jn himself forever and the aforesaid Xian the mother etc to repair and maintain the said cottage with appurtenances as to the roof and dawb however much should be shown to be right and proper during her lifetime and the aforesaid Jn Botiller and Xian his wife should look after and repair the rest of the two cottages and all closes of the said cottages in all as it should appear good and competent on their behalf however the surrender of the said cottages with appurtenances should be upon such condition that if the aforesaid Jn and Xian his wife their heirs or executors should pay or cause to be paid or one of them should pay or cause to be paid to the aforesaid Jn Wode senior or Jn Wode junior and Xian the mother of the same said Jn and Jn their heirs and executors or one of their rightful a ttorneys 40marks of money viz at the feast of easter next following after the date of this court 40s thereof and at the feast of easter then next following 100s thereof and at the feast of easter then next following 100s thereof and at the feast of easter then next following 100s thereof and at the feast of easter then next following 100s and at the feast of easter then next following 4li13s4d until the aforesaid 40marks should fully be paid that then the present surrender of the said cottage with its appurtenances should stand in full force and vigour and if the aforesaid Jn and Xian his wife their heirs or executors should default in the aforesaid payment or in any of the aforesaid in any of the years at the aforesaid feasts mentioned in part or in whole that then truly it should be allowed to the aforesaid Jn Wode senior and Jn Wode junior and Xian mother of Jn and Jn their heirs and assigns into the aforesaid cottages with appurtenances in the manner and form above mentioned by licence of the court in their former estate to reenter and to hold for themselves and their heirs and to retain this present surrender notwithstanding to whom freely seisin is given to hold in the form from the lord by the rod etc by ancient services etc saving the right etc and they gave to the lord for a fine etc and made fealty
