fine 4s condition and Jn Mille and Thos Kelete held by the rod of this manor jointly with Jn Waleys now deceased one tenement sometime of Robt Stephen with their appurtenances in Earls Colne present in court surrendered into the hands of the lord the aforesaid tenement with appurtenances to the use of Thos Moordon Jn Asshford and Jn Payn and their heirs upon the following condition viz that the aforesaid Thos and his cofeoffees should pay or cause to be paid to the aforesaid Jn Melle and Thos Kelet or any of them or their rightful attorneys 7li of legal english money namely at xmas next following after the date of this court 6s8d and at easter then next following 6s8d and the feast of the nativity of st john baptist then next following 6s8d and at the feast of michaelmas then next following 6s8d and thus yearly to be paid at the feast of xmas easter the nativity of st john and michaelmas at each of the same said feasts 6d8d until the aforesaid 7li should be fully paid and the aforesaid Jn Melle and Thos should be satisfied and fully paid that then the present surrender and seisin thereof delivered should remain in its force and effect and if they should default in any payment of the aforesaid payments in part or in whole at any of the feasts for payment thereof shown payment should be made in any year whatsoever that from that time truly it should be allowed to the aforesaid Jn Melle and Thos Kelet and their heirs to reenter into the aforesaid tenement with appurtenances by the lord's licence and to retain it for themselves their heirs and executors as in their former estate this surrender and seisin thereof delivered notwithstanding to whom truly the aforesaid Thos Moordon Jn Asshford and Jn Payn upon the preceding condition and form by the steward were delivered thereof seisin to have and to hold to themselves their heirs and assigns by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor by the services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed etc saving the rights etc and they gave to the lord for a fine for having their estate thereof as shown etc and the aforesaid Thos Moordon made fealty
