something illegible followed by Chewisland | fine 18s and they present that Agnes Tillwick widow late wife of Jn Tilwick held of the lord at the day of her death according to the custom of the manor certain lands and tenements with the appurtenances customary called Chewnesland lying in Colne aforesaid containing by estimation in the whole about 14a of land or more or less etc for term of her life of the gift and grant of the lord the reversion thereof after the death of the said Agnes belonging to the lord and his heirs as on the court here holden on wednesday in the week of pentecost in the 12Hen7 17.5.1497 more at large appeareth the foresaid Agnes died of and in the foresaid lands and tenement with the appurtenances of such estate seised since the last court and because it is so found by the homage the bailiff charged to seize the foresaid lands and tenements with the appurtenances into the lord's hands and they are worth by year etc and hereupon the lord by the advice and consent of Jn Veer knight head steward and Phil Tinley knight receiver and surveyor granted to Jn Tillwick of Colne aforesaid son and heir of the foresaid Jn and Agnes the foresaid lands and tenements with the appurtenances to hold to him and his heirs and assigns to which Jn Tillwick by the lord's steward there is seisin thereof delivered to hold to him Jn Sparrow and their heirs and assigns to the use of the said Jn Tillwicke of the lord by the rod to the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor etc and he giveth to the lord for fine etc and made fealty |
