Cocks Xfine 3s to this court came Rich Linde and Sibill his wife and the same Sibill alone and secretly examined by the lord's steward surrendered into the lord's hands one cottage with a garden adjoining sometime Cock's since Jn Ridnales deceased and late Jn Sparrowe's and Agnes his wife as it lieth in Colne viz between the tenement late Thos Clerk's of the one part and the tenement late Wm Frances of the other part as etc to the use of Jn Modie and Alice his wife and the heirs of the same Jn Modie who being present in the court came and craved to be admitted thereunto and they are admitted the lord's tenants to whom by the lord's steward there is seisin thereof delivered to hold to them and the heirs of the said Jn Moddie of the lord by the rod to the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor etc and they give fine and made fealty
