fine 11s to this court came Wm Wade and surrendered into the lord's hands one piece of customary land with the appurtenances called Bettingsland containing by estimation about 47a of land or more or less etc to the use and behoof of Rich Wade his son his heirs and assigns who being present in the court came and craved to be admitted thereunto and he is admitted the lord's tenant to whom by the lord's steward there is seisin thereof delivered to hold to him and his heirs of the lord by the rod to the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor and he giveth fine etc and made fealty yet this present surrender and seisin thereof delivered is made on condition following viz that the foresaid Rich Wade his heirs and assigns shall yearly hereafter after this court shall purge and make clean two acres of the foresaid 47a from thorns and thistles and underwoods growing in the same land until the said land be purged and made clean and so after shall keep the said 47a in the form aforesaid and that on pain of seizure
