1r of land Xto this court came Jn Roger of Canningdon and Joan his wife one of the daughters and coheirs of Simon Lingwood deceased and the same Joan alone and secretly examined by the lord's steward surrendered into the lord's hands the half of 1r of land lying between the Heyhouse and the park gate to the intent that the lord thereof seised might regrant out of his hands the said half of the said rood of land with the appurtenances to the foresaid Jn and Joan and their heirs and the lord by virtue of the surrender aforesaid in the premises so seised at this present court by his steward granted out of his hands to the foresaid Jn and Joan and their heirs the said half of the said 1r of land aforesaid wi th the appurtenances to hold to them and their heirs of the lord by the rod to the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor on condition following viz that the profits and issues of the half of the said rood of land shall be yielded bestowed and expended on a potation on the second day of the week of rogation at the cross which standeth in the highway leading leading even to the park of the lord to which Jn and Joan by the lord's steward there is seisin thereof delivered to hold to them their heirs and assigns etc and they give fine etc and made fealty
