Mordens Xfine 12d to this court came Alice Layer widow who held for term of her life of the lord as of this manor by the rod etc one tenement with the appurtenances called Mordens as etc to remain after her decease to one Wm Layer son and heir of Hen Layer deceased late husband of the foresaid Alice and his heirs as in the leet with the court here holden on tuesday in the week of pentecost in the 28Hen8 6.6.1536 more at large appeareth the foresaid Alice being present in the court surrendered into the lord's hands the foresaid tenement with the appurtenances called Mordens to the use and behoof of Jn Sparrowe and his assigns during the whole term of the life of the said Alice which Jn Sparrowe being present in the court came and craved to be admitted thereunto and he is admitted the lord's tenant thereof to whom by the lord's steward there is seisin thereof delivered to hold to him and his assigns during the term of the life of the said Alice Layer of the lord by the rod to the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor to remain after her decease as before etc and he giveth fine etc and made fealty
