widow and surrendered into the lord's hands one cottage with the appurtenances called
Carters
sometime in the tenure of
Jn Carter
and since
Wm Elbie's
and late
Jn Reignold's
to the use and behoof of
Jn Ruffle
his heirs and assigns who being present in the court came and craved to be admitted thereunto and he is admitted the lord's tenant thereof to whom by the lord's steward there is seisin thereof delivered to hold to him his heirs and assigns of the lord by the rod to the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor and he giveth fine etc and made fealty yet this present surrender thereof delivered is made on condition following viz that if the foresaid

his heirs or assigns pay or cause to be paid to the foresaid
Joan Mugge
or her certain attorney or executor 26s8d sterli ng beside 13s4d beforehand paid in manner and form following viz in the feast of
michaelmas.next coming
after the date of these presents in the parish church of Colne aforesaid 13s4d sterling and in the feast of michaelmas then next following in the place aforesaid 13s4d in full payment of the said 26s8d that then this present surrender and seisin thereof delivered shall stand and be in all his strength and effect but if there be default in any of the payments aforesaid contrary to the form aforesaid that then it shall be lawful to the said
Joan Mugge
and heirs into the said cottage with the appurtenances and into every parcel thereof to reenter and have again and the same to hold enjoy and possess as in the former estate and the foresaid
Jn Ruffle
his heirs and assigns from thence wholly to expel and remove this present surrender in anywise notwithstanding
