and before the wife of
Roger Hitchcocke
deceased which held to her and her assigns of the lord by the rod as of this manor etc one messuage with the appurtenances called
Sebrights
as etc to remain after her decease to one
Thos Roote
and his heirs executor of the testament and last will of the said
Roger Hitchcocke
deceased to sell and the money thereof coming to be divided among the children of the said
Roger
and if is shall happen the children of the said
Roger
die the said
Maud
living then the money coming of the sale of the said messuage shall remain to the churchwardens of Earls Colne to support the necessary reparations of the said church as in the leet with the court here holden on
tuesday in the week of pentecost in the 22Hen8 7.6.1530
more at large appears the foresaid
Maud
died since the last court of such estate seised and hereupon to this court came the foresaid
Thos Roote
and craved to be admitted the foresaid messuage by reason of the remainder aforesaid to sell etc and because it is so found by the homage therefore he is admitted the lord's tenant thereof to whom by the lord's steward there is seisin thereof delivered to hold to him and his heirs of the lord by the rod to the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor etc to sell as before etc and he giveth fine etc and made fealty
