X | fine 8d it is found by the homage that
Robt Mortymer
and
Jn Saaks
out of the court and since the last court surrendered into the lord's hands by the hands of
Jn Culverton
one of the lord's tenants in the presence of
Wm Smythe
likewise the lord's tenant and other the same witnessing one cottage with a garden adjoining called
Oldhall
lying at the end of the town of Colne aforesaid as by the metes and bounds etc to the use and behoof of
Thos Cobbe
his heirs and assigns who being present in the court came and craved to be admitted thereunto and because it is so found by the homage therefore he is admitted the lord's tenant thereof to whom by the lord's steward there is seisin thereof delivered to hold to him his heirs and assi gns of the lord by the rod etc and he giveth fine etc and made fealty yet this present surrender and seisin thereof delivered is made on condition following viz that if the foresaid
Thos Cobbe
his heirs or assigns shall fine or cause to be found to the foresaid
Jn Saaks
washing apparel easement of fire and dwelling in the said cottage together with attendance at time of need during the term of the life of the said
Jn Saaks
then this present surrender and seisin thereof delivered shall stand and abide in all his strength and effect otherwise it shall be void and of none effect
