Brownes Messuage fine 5s to this court came Jn Culverton and Thomasin his wife and the same Thomasin alone and secretly examined by the lord's steward surrendered into the lord's hands one messuage with a garden adjoining and the appurtenances sometime Jn Slowe's and since Rich Browne's and late Wm Davyson's as etc to the use and behoof of Jn Strutte his heirs and assigns who being present in the court came and craved to be admitted thereunto and he is admitted the lord's tenant thereof to whom by the lord's steward there is seisin thereof delivered to hold to him his heirs and assigns of the lord by the rod etc and he giveth fine etc and made fealty yet this present surrender and seisin thereof delivered is made on condition following viz th at if the foresaid Jn Strutte his heirs or assigns pay or cause to be paid to the foresaid Jn Culverton or his certain attorney or his executors 20li of good and lawful money of England beside 6li beforehand paid in manner and form following viz in the feast of st michael the archangel next after the title of this court in the parish church of Earls Colne between the hours of eleven and twelve of the clock in the said day 4li and in the feast of st michael the archangel then next following in the place and time aforesaid 4li and so from year to year always in the feast of st michael in the place and time aforesaid 4li until the said 20li be fully paid and satisfied that then this present surrender and seisin thereof delivered shall stand and remain in all his strength and effect and if there be default in any payment of the payments contrary to the form aforesaid that then it shall be lawful to and for the said Jn Culverton his heirs and assigns into the foresaid messuage with the garden adjoining and their appurtenances and every parcel thereof to reenter and have again and so as in their former estate to have hold possess and enjoy the same and also wholly to expel and move the said Jn Strutte his heirs and executors from thence this present surrender and seisin thereof delivered in anywise notwithstanding
