double fine 4s it is found and certified by Jn Churche the lord's steward as by the homage that Geo Bieston and Ann his wife out of the court and since the last court viz on sunday being the 23.1.1Mary1 etc at Earls Colne and the same Ann alone and secretly examined by the lord's steward surrendered into the lord's hands by the hands of the said steward in the presence of Barth Church vicebailiff in the presence of Robt Greene the lord's tenant and other the same witnessing one croft of land called Wallnuttecrofte to the use and behoof of Wm Halleden and Ann his wife and the heirs of the said Wm to which said Wm and Ann the said day year and place (23.1.1Mary1 at Earls Colne) in the presence of the said witnesses by the foresaid steward there is seisin thereof delivered to hold to them and the heirs of the said Wm of the lord by the rod etc and it is further found and certifies by the foresaid steward as by the homage that the foresaid Wm Halledon and Ann his wife of the foresaid croft of land with the appurtenances being so seised and the same Ann being alone and secretly examined by the said steward surrendered into the lord's hands by the hands of the foresaid steward in the presence of Barth Churche vicebailiff and Robt Greene the lord's tenant and other the same witnessing the said croft of land called Wallnutecrofte to the use and behoof of Robt Peerson and Joan his wife and the heirs of the same Robt which Robt being present in the court came and cra ved himself and the foresaid Joan his wife to be admitted thereunto and because it is so found out by the homage therefore they are admitted the lord's tenants thereof to which Robt and Joan his wife by the lord's steward there is seisin thereof delivered to hold to them and the heirs of the said Robt of the lord by the rod etc and they gave to the lord in the name of a double fine as appears and made fealty
