1a parcel of Berecrofte the feed of Bettingsland Hansershedge | fine 12d to this court came Lewis Jegon and surrendered into the lord's hands one piece of land containing by estimation 1a of land or more late parcel of a croft of land called Berecrofte as it lieth in Colne aforesaid viz between the land of Thos Christmas late parcel of the said croft of land called Berecrofte of the one part toward the east and the land of Edm Allen the residue of the said croft of land called Berecroft of the other part toward the west one head thereof abutting upon the way leading from the parish church of Earls Colne toward the lord's park called Colne Parke toward the south and the other head thereof abutting upon the garden of the tenement Salmon toward the north etc and also the feed and pasture of all the wood called Bettingsland with the appurtenances now in the tenure or occupation of Jn Game the elder and before in the tenure of Rich Wade and also the feed and pasture of one wood called Hansershedge now in the tenure or occupation of the foresaid Lewis Jegon lying and being in the parish of Earls Colne aforesaid etc to the intent that the lord being thereof so seised might regrant the said pieces of land and other the premises with the appurtenances to the foresaid Lewis Jegon and Alice his wife during the whole term of their lives and either of them longer living to remain after their decease and the decease of either of them longer living to Jn Jegon son of the foresaid Lewis and Alice and his heirs and the lord by the virtue of the surrender aforesaid in the the foresaid piece of land and other the premises being so seised regranted out of his hands by his steward at this present court the foresaid piece of land and other the premises with the appurtenances to the foresaid Lewis Jegon and Alice his wife to hold to them and their assigns during the term of their lives and the longer liver of them of the lord by the rod etc to remain after their decease and the longer liver of them to the foresaid Jn Jegon and his heirs and the foresaid Lewis and Alice give fine as appears etc and the foresaid Lewis made fealty |
