fine 14d Oldhall | to this court came Thos Turnor and Joan his wife and the same Joan alone and secretly examined by the lord's steward surrendered into the hands of the lord one cottage with a garden adjoining and the appurtenances called Oldhall lying at the town end of Colne aforesaid as etc to the use and behoof of Thos Leffingwell and Wm his son their heirs and assigns which Thos being present in the court came and prayed himself and the foresaid Wm his son to be admitted thereunto and they are admitted the lord's tenants thereof to whom by the lord's steward there is seisin thereof delivered to hold to them their heirs and assigns of the lord by the rod etc and they gave fine etc and made fealty yet this present surrender and seisin thereof delivered is made on condition following viz that if the foresaid Thos Leffingwell or Wm Leffingwell or one of them their heirs or assigns pay or cause to be paid to the foresaid Thos Turnor or his certain attorney or executors on tuesday in the week of pentecost next coming after the date of this court 19.5.1562 5li of good and lawful money etc in the parish church of Earls Colne aforesaid that then this present surrender and seisin thereof delivered shall stand and remain in all his force and effect and if there be default in payment of the said 5li contrary to the form aforesaid that they it shall be lawful to the foresaid Thos Turnor his heirs and assigns into the foresaid cottage with the garden adjoining and their appurtenances to reenter and have again and so as in their former est ate to have and to hold enjoy and possess and the foresaid Thos Leffingwell and Wm Leffingwell their heirs and assigns from thence wholly to expel and to remove this present surrender and seisin thereof delivered in anywise notwithstanding |
