fine 2s6d the half of Brayes | it is found by the homage that Thos Rolte which held to him his heirs and assigns of the lord as of this manor etc by the rod the half of one tenement or cottage with appurtenances called Brayes in Colne aforesaid as etc died long before the last court of and in the foresaid half of the foresaid tenement or cottage with appurtenances sole seised in his demesne as of fee according to the custom of the manor and they say further that Rich Rolte of full age is the son of the foresaid Thos and next heir thereunto who being present in the court came and prayed to be admitted thereunto and because it is so found by the homage therefore he is admitted the lord's tenant thereof to whom by the lord's steward there is seisin thereof delivered to hold to him his heirs and assigns of the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor by the ancient rents and services therefore before due and of right accustomed and he giveth fine etc and made fealty |
