fine 3s4dto this court came Lewice Jegon that held to him his heirs and assigns of the lord by the rod to the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor one cottage with a garden adjoining with the appurtenances sometime Jn Lavenham's since Robt Garnon's and since Robt Upcher as by a court roll bearing date on tuesday in the week of pentecost 15.6.38Hen8 more at large appears and surrendered into the lord's hands by the hands of his steward the foresaid cottage and garden with the appurtenances to the intent that the lord might do his pleasure therewith whereupon the lord being thereof so seised by his said steward regranted out of his hands the said cottage and garden aforesaid with appurtenances to the aforesaid Lewice Jegon and Eliz his wife for term of their lives and the longer liver of them to remain after their decease and the longer liver of them to one Jn Jegon son of the foresaid Lewice and his heirs and assigns which Lewice and Eliz being present in the court came and prayed to be admitted thereunto to whom by the lord's steward there is seisin thereof delivered to hold to the same Lewice and Eliz for term of their lives and the longer liver of them of the lord by the rod to the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor by the fealty rents and services therefore before due and of right accustomed and they give fine and made fealty and are admitted the lord's tenants
