fine | it is found by the homage that Thos Culverton that held to him and to his heirs and assigns etc one croft containing by estimation 1r of land more or less etc with appurtenances called Sandhills as etc as by copy of court roll here holden 21.6.10Eliz1 more at large appears died since the last court and before his death lying very sick surrendered into the lord's hands by the hands of Barth Churche instead of the bailiff in the presence of Robt Peerson and Thos Bridge the lord's customary tenants and other the same witnessing the foresaid 1r of land with appurtenances called Sandhill to the use and behoof of his last will and testament by the which he gave willed and legacied the premises in these english words following viz item I give to Thomasine Culverton my daughter and to her heirs and assigns my croft commonly called Tilekilne Croft and furthermore by his said will he willed that if it should happen the said Thomasine or Joan his other daughter should die before they came to their age of twenty one years then she that overlived should have the other's part as in the said will bearing date 10.7.1581 more at large appears whereupon now cometh the foresaid Thomasine Culverton that is now of the age of 6yrs by Robt Peerson her guardian and humbly prayed to be admitted to the foresaid 1r of land with appurtenances according to the form and effect of the surrender and will aforesaid to whom by the lord's steward to the hands of her guardian aforesaid there is seisin thereof delivered to have and to hold to her her heirs and assigns of the lord by the rod to the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor etc and she giveth fine etc and made fealty and is admitted the lord's tenant |
