fine 13s4d it is found by the homage that Agnes Booner single that held to her and her heirs of the lord by the rod etc one tenement with garden adjoining and the appurtenances situate and lying in Colne aforesaid together with one gate to go and come out of the garden aforesaid into Lowfield as by copy of court roll here holden 5.11.5Eliz1 more at large appears out of the court and since the last court surrendered into the lord's hands by the hands of Barth Churche instead of the bailiff in the presence of Robt Peerson and Jn Barret the lord's customary tenants and other the same witnessing the foresaid tenement with ga rden adjoining and the appurtenances to the use and behoof of Jn Ancell and Susan his wife and the heirs and assigns of the said Jn yet on the condition and form following viz that if the foresaid Jn and Susan or one of them or their heirs executors administrators pay or cause to be paid to the foresaid Agnes Bunner her executors or administrators 4li of lawful money of England in the now dwelling house of Barth Churche in Earls Colne aforesaid in form following viz on 22.10.next 40s and in and upon 22.10.1583 40s and on further condition that the said Jn Ancell and Susan shall suffer Thos Alden otherwise Smythe to hold the foresaid tenement and garden with appurtenances during his life paying to the same Jn Ancell and Susan and the heirs of the same Jn yearly during the life of the said Thos Alden 5s whereupon now came the foresaid Jn Ancell and Susan and pray to be admitted to the premises according to the form and effect of the surrender and condition aforesaid to whom by the lord's steward there is seisin thereof delivered by the rod to have and to hold to the same Jn and Susan and the heirs of the said Jn of the lord by the rod etc always provided that the said Jn and Susan shall sustain the premises with all manner of reparations from time to time
