fine 2s6d | it is found by the homage that Jn Somersham that held to him and his heirs of the lord by the rod etc one tenement with the lands to the same belonging called Stacyes otherwise John Adams containing by estimation 15a as etc as by copy of court roll here holden 11.4.17Eliz1 more at large appears out of court and since the last court surrendered into the lord's hands by the hands of Thos Allen instead of the bailiff in the presence of Wm Bunner and Hen Smythe the lord's customary tenants and other the same witnessing one piece of land containing by estimation 1r of land parcel of the said 15a called Stacyes on which piece one cottage is now builded as the said piece of land is enclosed with hedge and ditches and lieth on the west part of the said lands called Stacyes and abutteth upon a way leading from Curd Stile into the highway leading to Coggeshall to the use and behoof of Jn Gonner his heirs and assigns who being present in the court came etc to whom etc and the rent is proportioned by the court and their assent as 4d by year and afterwards the court sitting came the foresaid Jn Gonner and in the full court surrendered into the lord's hands by the hands of his steward the foresaid piece of land now builded on to the intent that the lord being thereof so seised might regrant the foresaid piece of land to the foresaid Jn Gonner and Joan his wife and the heirs of the said Jn by virtue whereof the lord being so seised thereof regranted out of his hands the foresaid piece of land builded on with appurtenances to the foresaid Jn and Joan and the heirs of the said Jn and by the lord's steward there is seisin thereof delivered to have and to hold to them and the heirs of the said Jn of the lord by the rod etc |
