it is found in the court with the leet of the 29Eliz1 that Margt Orbell late the wife of Rich Orbell held of the lord as of this manor by copy for term of her life by right accruing by and after the death of the said Rich one tenement and 10a of customary land sometime Robt Hillie called Pakesgate with appurtenances in Earls Colne aforesaid by the surrender of the said Rich as also appeareth in a court here holden on tuesday in whitsun week in 1Eliz1 and that the same tenement by virtue of the said surrender after the death of the same Rich and Margt ought to remain to Nich Parker of Earls Colne and his heirs which Rich and Margt were admitted thereunto in the form aforesaid but the admittance of the said Nich to take up his remainder thereof was respited and his fine remaineth unpaid for his entry thereunto and that the same Nich before he was admitted the lord's tenant of the premises died and that Rich Parker was his son and heir who was admitted the lord's tenant thereof to hold by fealty suit of court and rent of by the year and the same Rich being now required came and acknowledged his tenure aforesaid and is sworn of the homage of this court
