in the court here holden the 12.9.28Eliz1 it appeareth that Jn Cricke took to him and his heirs by copy of the lord's grant one cottage lately built upon one parcel of the waste soil of this manor one head thereof abutting towards the north and the other head thereof abutting toward the south and lieth between the wood called Chalkeney Wood towards the east and to the highway there leading from Earls Colne aforesaid towards Much Tey of the other part towards the west and containing in length 3rod and in breadth 2rod by fealty suit of court and rent of 12d by the year and (he) being now required came not therefore he is in mercy 4d etc
