at a view with court here held saturday 22.9.41Eliz1 Robt Game Sam Game Thos Game Barth Game and Rich Game were admitted tenants of the lord to themselves and their heirs to one piece of land containing by estimation 18a more or less parcel of a certain piece of land called Bettings Land as shown by copy of court roll now at this court came the aforesaid Robt Game in his proper person and in open court surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of the steward his whole part purport right and interest of and in the premises aforesaid with appurtenances to the work and use of the said Sam Game his brother and his heirs on a condition that the aforesaid Sam Game his heirs or assigns should pay or cause to be paid to the aforesaid Robt Game his executors of assigns during the natural life of the said Robt a sum of 26s8d at the four annual terms viz at the feast of the nativity the annunciation st john baptist and michaelmas by even portions in the church porch of Colne aforesaid and if there is defect in payment at any of the feasts aforesaid that then the aforesaid Robt Game or his assigns shall lawfully enter into the premises and hold them until the aforesaid arrearages are paid and satisfied otherwise the surrender to remain in full force which Sam present here in court is granted seisin to himself and his heirs on the condition aforesaid to hold of the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor aforesaid by the rents services and customs before due and of right accustomed etc and he was admitted tenant and the aforesaid Thos Barth and Rich Game have right in the premises for the term of their lives in fee simple according to the custom of the manor aforesaid therefore the aforesaid Sam Game here in court surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of the steward aforesaid a fifth part of the premises to the work and use of Thos Game and his heirs and another fifth part of the premises to the work and use of Barth Game and his heirs and another fifth part of the premises to the work and use of Rich Game and his heirs who were admitted tenants in form aforesaid
